The tournament will be held at Blaugate Sports Field in Skelmersdale, Lancashire on the 12th and 13th of June and will be open to 7 age groups from under 10s to an all new youth cup combining girls from 16-18. The event will provide a fantastic opportunity to pit your wits against some of the best amateur teams in the country. Last year’s competition saw teams from all over the UK and Ireland battle it out for one of our prestigious prizes. We will be hoping that these teams will return to defend their crown.
Some of the football played in last year’s tournament was simply outstanding and was witnessed by Liverpool football legend Alan Kennedy—a man so impressed with the ability of some of these young footballers that he will be returning this year to support the event.
The tournament will be glittered with some extra special touches that will make each player feel like a star. Walking out on pitches compared to a bowling green to the champions league theme tune was just one of the things that added to the overall appeal of the day. Every player will, again, receive a certificate to mark a truly special occasion.
Along with promoting excellence in girl’s football and providing one of the toughest challenges in the amateur game, the tournament will, again, help to raise money for the NSPCC—with whom Skem Athletic Girls are closely linked. The event will include a special draw featuring some memorable prizes donated by some of the Premiership’s top clubs.
The tournament promises to be an event in the football calendar not to be missed, but places are limited due to it’s national status. We look forward to your response.
The price for the tournament will be £50 for the under 11s, 12s, 13s, 14s, 15s and 16-18s (9-a-side) and £40 for the under 10s competition (7-a-side)
Please note that 50% of your entry fee will be donated to the NSPCC and will be used to help protect local children from abuse and neglect.
